Ordering
Placing An Order
The is no minimum order requirement. Orders may be placed online 24/7/365, faxed to us using the fax order form or by calling 866-865-8901 Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. central time.
To review a order prior to checkout, click the "cart" tab at the top of the site. Adjust quantities using the "+", "-" or "delete" buttons. Discounts should be entered in the "cart" tab in the promo code area.
You can create an account when checking out. This allows for streamlined future checkouts and lets you track/view previous orders. You can checkout without registering by clicking the "checkout without registering" button.
Payment
We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Checks, Money Orders, PayPal and Purchase Orders (from schools only), and we will ship COD via UPS in the USA upon request. COD shipments must be paid via cashiers check or money order and there is an additional $10.00 UPS charge on COD shipments. Orders paid via Check, Money Order or PayPal are not shipped until we receive full payment.
Checks/Money Orders from outside USA must be drawn on banks within the USA, no exceptions. Customers outside the USA who are having trouble paying with a credit card may want to try the PayPal payment option.
Purchase Orders are only available for schools. We will not ship the order until we have received the PO. Fax it, signed by the Principal or designated school official, to 847-388-4704. The invoice payment is due within 30 days after shipping. Late payments are subject to a 1-1/2% per month late charge added to your bill. No discounts are available on purchase orders.
Sales Tax
Sales tax is only charged on orders shipped in Illinois. If you are in Illinois and tax exempt, fax your letter to 877-388-4704.
Quantities
We are about 98% in stock at all times and have enough inventory to fill almost any size order. If there is a delay in fulfilling your order, we will immediately let you know.
Discounts
We offer large quantity discounts for orders placed online. (Sorry, these discounts are not valid on phone orders.) Discounts vary from 5% to 20% depending on price points achieved and are only available on orders fully paid at the time of shipping. Discounts exclude shipping and possible taxes. Orders must be shipped to a single destination. Discounts are not automatic and the following promotional codes must be entered by the buyer in the cart tab (discounts will only appear if the required price point has been achieved):
If your merchandise order is at least $75.00, enter SAVE5 for a 5% discount.
If your merchandise order is at least $150.00, enter SAVE10 for a 10% discount.
If your merchandise order is at least $250.00, enter SAVE15 for a 15% discount.
If your merchandise order is $375.00 or more, enter SAVE20 for a 20% discount.

Special Orders
We work with factories that can produce just about anything needed in bulk neckwear. Before we place an order with a factory, we require a money order or cashiers check for 50% of the order or a valid credit card on file. If you choose credit card, $1.00 is charged immediately and the remaining balance upon shipment to you. If you pay via money order/cashiers check, it is not cashed until we ship the product to you. The remaining balance is due via COD at the time of delivery or by other arrangement. If you cancel the order for any reason once it is given to the factory, you are responsible for 50% of the order, which will be charged to your card or we will cash the money order or cashiers check.
Security
Our entire checkout process is on secure server that is verified daily. At checkout, you are automatically redirected to secure pages (https) to enter and transfer your address and any other sensitive information. We, along with over 232,000 other online merchants, use Authorize.Net to ensure your processing security, safeguard your customer information and combat against fraud.
We protect your privacy and do not share, sell or use your info for any reason other than to fulfill your order. Promo e-mail from us is only sent to users who specifically request to be contacted. After placing an order, you will receive a follow-up message from us about 10 days later. Unless you choose to opt-in to our e-mail list or place a new order, you will not receive any further e-mail from us. If you supply us with your postal address, we only use it to get you the info you requested or order you placed. Persons who supply us with their phone numbers are only contacted in regards to their orders.

Shipping, Tracking
General Policy
Orders placed Monday-Friday online by 5 p.m. Central Time typically ship the same day (on in-stock items, which includes 98% of our inventory). We ship from Illinois, about 30 miles north of Chicago. USPS orders are picked up at approximately 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.; UPS orders at 3:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. each weekday. Shipping charges are calculated based on the shipping weight of the items. A small handling charge of $1.50 is included on shipping amounts to cover our cost of shipping supplies/equipment. Shipping options in USPS, UPS or local pickup.
Shipping Options
For time sensitive shipments in the USA, we recommend UPS as your shipping choice. UPS offers guaranteed service and package tracking; USPS does not. UPS operates on a Monday-Friday schedule and all US states receive delivery in five business days or less with UPS Ground. See our UPS Ground Map for your location. For Saturday delivery, next day, 2nd day or 3 day service, please see our UPS rushing shipping information.
We also offer USPS shipping. Times in transit shown at checkout for USPS are estimates and are not guaranteed, except in the case of Express Mail (1 to 2 days). For small orders can ship via First Class Mail (3 to 10 days), the least expensive option. Packages weighing more than one pound can shipping via Parcel Post. It costs less than Priority Mail (2 to 4 days), but delivery time will increase.
At our option, we may change the shipping method you choose if we can get the order to you faster another way.
Shipping Cost
Our shipping rates are based on the actual weight of packages and vary based on carrier used, level of service and destination. We do not offer flat rate shipping. For orders shipped via USPS First Class Mail in the USA, shipping starts under $3.50 for one tie and $4.50 for heavier items. The average shipping cost of 50 ties shipped via UPS Ground in the USA is $8 to $12 depending upon the destination. Rush shipping is more costly, with UPS Next Day in the upwards of $30 for a single tie in the USA.
Exact shipping charges are shown on the checkout page after you enter your address but before you enter any payment information. Several shipping options and prices from UPS and USPS will be shown. You may check your shipping charge in this manner and be under no obligation to complete the transaction.
UPS Ground Map
UPS Ground is affordable and reliable and allows you to track the progress of your package online. Most areas in 25 states receive 1- or 2-day service with UPS Ground. The map below provides days in transit for UPS Ground shipments from our warehouse to anywhere in the USA.

Rush Shipping
We offer UPS Next Day, 2nd Day and 3 Day shipping as rush options at checkout. (Saturday delivery is available with UPS, too. For Saturday delivery, call us at 866-865-8901.) UPS operates on a Monday-Friday schedule. Account for no delivery on weekends when selecting your shipping option. Orders placed after 5 p.m. Central Time do not ship until the next business day. When a holiday falls on any of the in-transit days, add one extra day for delivery. See the chart below for arrivals using rush shipping.

International Shipping
We ship worldwide, and you usually can choose UPS or USPS shipping. The buyer is responsible for customs charges, brokerage fees or taxes that may be imposed by the carrier or your local government. UPS brokerage fees, when charged, start at about $35 per package and go up from there. All items shipped outside the USA must be paid in full before shipping. No CODs or Purchase Orders accepted on international orders. Checks and Money Orders must be drawn on banks within the USA only, no exceptions. Packages are always shipped as merchandise at their full value for customs reporting. Most packages shipped outside the USA arrive quickly, but customs officials can pick out any package at any time and slow delivery by a few days to several weeks or more. We have no control over how long your package may take to clear customs.
Local Pickup
If you are in the area, orders may be picked up from our warehouse at 525 North Morris Ave., Mundelein, IL 60060. Call us at 866-865-8901 to first make arrangements. Our warehouse is closed to the public and we do not allow customers to browse our inventory.
Tracking Your Order
An e-mail is sent to you when your order ships. (If you do not receive it, check your junk mail folder.) If the order ships UPS, a tracking number is included in the message, letting you check the progress of the shipment at UPS.com. If the order ships USPS, a delivery confirmation number is included. For most packages, USPS does not post delivery progress. Usually, the package will not be posted on the USPS Website until it is delivered.

Merchandise
Quality And Prices
We stand behind the quality of our products. We hear it over and over again from our customers, "I can't believe the quality for the price I paid." All items we sell are first quality. We invite you to read a sampling of our customer testimonials. Our prices may be low, but quality is not. We are very efficient at what we do and sell a lot of ties. Our volume sold lets us price our ties for less. If you are scared by the price, give us a try anyway. We don't think you'll be disappointed.
Next to many silk ties, you may not be able to tell the difference between the silk and our $3.75 Solid Color Ties. The $3.75 ties are made from Polyester Microfiber with an elegant Satin finish. We see the same quality ties selling for $10 to $25 elsewhere. We won't reveal our customers, but you'd be surprised at where these ties are being worn. We have supplied ties to many Fortune 500 companies for their events as well as production studios for use in t.v. and movies.
Dye Lots And Colors
We urge you to buy as many ties as you need at one time. Dye lots and texture may vary from batch to batch and what we ship next week may not be an exact match to what we ship today. Colors will vary on each computer also. While we try to have images match the colors as closely as we can on our screens, monitors vary, browsers vary and the ties you receive may not exactly match the color you are looking at. Because two items share the same color name, they may not be an exact color match due to different dye lots, manufacturers, etc. If you have any questions regarding colors, contact us.
Color Swatches
Bridal shops, formal wear stores, designers, (us) create their own color names. We often have the same colors under another name. If you're looking to match David's BridalTM colors, use our PDF Color Chart (click here to download) to quickly find which of our colors are a match. We have color swatches for our $3.75 Ties in "A1." Or, send your color swatch to us and we will mail you our best matching swatches. Mail to NeckTies, Inc., 525 N. Let us know the name of the color and that it came from Wikipedia, and we can compare it to our colors and send you our closest color swatches.
Matching Items
We carry many items that match. Due to dye lot changes, different manufacturers, etc., at times there may be subtle differences in the colors. At SolidColorNeckTies.net, one of our divisions, items are arranged by color. In each category, you will find items that match in color, material and texture. Sizing
A properly sized tie should extend from the top of the shirt collar to about the belt area. Most men and teens wear a standard 57" to 58" necktie and 20" clip-on or zipper tie. Our 61" and longer neckties and our 22" clip-on or zipper ties are generally for men over 6' tall or plus sized.
Women or males in their early teens generally can wear a standard sized tie, though they may consider a narrower width (anything less than 3-7/8" width). Look for clip-on or zipper ties less than 20" long, ideally 17" or 18".
We exchange more children's clip-on ties than any other grouping as customers tend to order sizes too small. For a proper fit, measure the boy from the top of the collar to the waist. On average, an 8" long tie may fit a boy up to 2 years old; an 11" tie 2 to 6 years old; a 14" tie 6 to 10 years old. Again, we recommend measuring the child before purchasing.
Packaging
Ties will come packaged in poly sleeves with one or six of a color per sleeve, depending on the quantity ordered. If you are purchasing a large quantity of a single color and require individual packaging, let us know in the comments box during checkout.
Orders ship in recyclable cardboard boxes or eco bags made from 40-50% recycled material. All cardboard waste generated from master cartons shipped to us goes to a recycler for reprocessing.
Washing And Ironing
Our $3.75 Solid Color Ties can be machine washed. We washed a white and hot pink tie that we ground dirt into and let set for a day. Using the instructions below, the ties came out looking almost as good as new.
Washing instructions for our $3.75 Ties: Spray any stains with a stain pre-treatment. Machine wash gentle cycle, cold water. Dry low heat, 30 minutes. Your results may vary based on the the stain, washing machine and length of time the stain has set.
To iron polyester ties or scarves, use the synthetic or next highest setting. For heavy creases, move the iron on this setting slowly over the crease and it should come out shortly.
Creases in silk ties or scarves often come out by simply hanging the tie overnight. For a heavier crease, iron the tie using the silk setting.

Changes, Exchanges, Returns
Changes And Cancellations
To change or cancel your order, call us immediately at 866-865-8901. We'll do everything we can to accommodate your request. However, our shipping process is very efficient and your order already may have shipped. We cannot change or cancel an order once shipped.
If you inadvertently clicked on check, money order or PayPal and the order was placed, place a new order, choosing the correct payment type. When we see the first order with an unconfirmed payment we will cancel it if there is a second order with a confirmed payment. Or, you can call us with a credit card to pay for the order. If you don't want the order, send us an e-mail using the "contact" tab and we will cancel it.
Exchanges And Returns
If you are not satisfied for any reason, unworn/unused items may be returned or exchanged within 30 days of receipt. Limit one exchange cycle allowed per order. Please note:
• You are responsible for the return shipping costs, and items must be sent to us prepaid.
• For exchanges, there a $3.00 flat fee to send the new merchandise to you.
• Any returns/exchanges shipped to us from outside the US may be held for up to two weeks until they are processed. If there are any customs charges billed to us upon a return, we will reduce your refund by that amount.
• If discounts were received and the return causes the discount to no longer be applicable, the refund will be adjusted accordingly.
• Items must be returned in the original condition and packaging. No refunds/exchanges are given on items worn, returned soiled, with an odor, in an unsalable condition or sent after 30 days of receipt. We are a nonsmoking environment. If returned ties smell of smoke, they will be returned to you and no refund given.
• We DO NOT guarantee ties worn in any environment where they are abused, (i.e. grabbed, yanked, twisted, etc.), particularly involving school-age children. Regardless of where they are purchased, ties that are grabbed, yanked, twisted or mistreated may, and probably will, fall apart.
When returning/exchanging items, please include your original invoice along with the completed Return/Exchange Form sent with your order. You may also download the form here. Failure to provide paperwork may delay the refund.
